Melbourne January. Parks and lawns dying. No public watering allowed. Even next to the river dry and dusty.
Great shot - perfect centring of steps and lightpoles, with the runner directing our eyes to the dry ground. Shocking images of drought are coming from everywhere now - this one is one of the best yet I've seen of Melbourne.

@Sidonie: Yes, there was a felling of apocalypse in Melbourne. No rain, and the sky choked with bushfire smoke. Perth is green in comparison.
I think drought has its own beauty too,and you captured and presented it well here ! I mean look at the vast dried land in that picture and that 'little' man on it,give me a kind of feeling that I can't figure out to say by words ! Yeah ! oh btw why in the earth that no public watering is allowed? Is it because for scares of public poisonous water or what? Haha....

it's refreshing to see that even Austraila can look like dry Denver at times. i can't wait to visit!
